Handblown Cut Glass Vase by Vicke Lindstrand for Kosta
This piece was designed and created later on in Vicke Lindstrand's career while he was still Artistic Director at Kosta glassworks in Sweden. The design was included in the Glasklart (Crystal Clear) Exhibition at NK Stockholm in 1969, which was Lindstrand's last prior to retirement.
This particular example was handblown in the 1970s. The design features incredibly solid clear crystal that encases a beautiful blue swirl. Surface circles have been cut to create a unique optical effect. It has an ovoid shaped cavity.
This vase is in excellent condition with no notches, cracks or repairs. Engraved on the underside of this vase is ‘Kosta (maker) 46693 (the '4' designated vases, model number) Lindstrand (designer).
