Handblown Glass Vase by Vicke Lindstrand for Kosta, Sweden
This striking handblown mid-century vase was designed by Vicke Lindstrand for Kosta glassworks in the 50’s. The semi-oval form features an internal emerald green core surrounded by deep blue threads all cased in solid clear crystal. The blue threads create a beautiful lattice pattern effect, especially when viewed at different angles.
Engraved on the underside of this vase is ‘Kosta (maker) 41588 (year & production number), Lindstrand (designer)' In the 1970s Kosta used '4' in front of the model number to designate vases, therefore, this vase is a 70s production prior to 1976 when Kosta became known as 'Kosta Boda'.
The piece looks fantastic paired with similar models! It is in good vintage condition with no notches, cracks, repairs or discolouration. There is some visible surface wear on both sides commensurate with age and use.
