Handblown Glass Bowl by Toshichi Iwata for Iwata Glass Co., Japan

This beautiful elegant elongated bowl features clear handblown glass with a foamy white underlay reminiscent of the sea. It was produced by Iwata glassworks, which was founded by the famous designer Toshichi Iwata (1893–1980) in Tokyo during the mid-century period. Iwata is celebrated as the father of modern art glass making in Japan and his work is in many important museum's collections - including The National Museum of Modern Art in Tokyo and The Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC. 

The overall condition of this vase is excellent (outstanding) with no notches, cracks, repairs or discolouration. It carries its original label.
