Timo Sarpaneva (1926-2006) was a Finnish designer and sculptor, who rose to great international fame in the 1950s for his ability to transform everyday objects into art. Sarpaneva was a master of many materials, but it was glass that captured his imagination the most due to how it interacted with light. Notably, it was Sarpeneva, who designed the iconic Iittala logo that the glassworks continues to use today!
