Hand-blown Glass Vase by Timo Sarpaneva for Iittala, Finland

This stunning vase belongs to Timo Sarpaneva's 'Orkidea' (Orchid) series, which he designed for Iittala in the 1950s. The innovative design won a variety of awards, including the prestigious Grand Prix award at Milano Triennale in 1954. The unique form features handblown clear glass with a sphere cavity and narrow opening, allowing it to beautifully highlight single stems. 

This piece is in excellent vintage condition with no notches, cracks, repairs or discolouration. It is signed ‘Timo Sarpaneva (designer) 3568 (model number)’.
