Mould-blown Glass Vase by Tauno Wirkkala for Humppila, Finland

This stunning vase features heavy mould-blown glass in amber tones. The fluted surface and clear honeycomb pattern base interact beautifully with the light. 

The Mesiurut series was designed by Tauno Wirkkala (1932 – 2005), who worked for various famous Finnish glassworks – including Humppila. He is best known for his nature inspired designs of vibrant green or amber tones. Talent must have run in the family as his brother was the celebrated designer Tapio Wirkkala.

This vase is in good vintage condition with no cracks, repairs or discolouration.
