Handblown Glass Vase by Sven Palmqvist for Orrefors, Sweden.

This vase features clear super solid smokey-blue crystal hand blown into a teardrop form with biomorphic cavity. The minimal Modernist form is really beautiful. It was designed by the renowned Swedish glass artist Sven Palmqvist for Orrefors glassworks in the late ’50s.

Etched on the underside of this vase is ‘Orrefors (maker) PU (designer + uncut smooth glass) 3632 (design/production number). It still carries its original label. This piece is in good vintage condition with some very light visible signs of wear commensurate with age and use. It has no notches, cracks, repairs or discolouration.
