14k Gold & Diamond Ring by Rauno Lähteenmäki, Finland
A beautiful example of Finnish Brutalist jewellery, this handcrafted ring combines richly textured solid 14k gold with a smooth, polished band, centred by a small diamond. Designed in 1969 by Turku-based jeweller Rauno Lähteenmäki, it reflects the sculptural, organic aesthetic for which his work is celebrated. Lähteenmäki's workshop was registered from 1952 to 1989.
This ring is fully stamped with the Finnish hallmarks: 'RL'(designer/maker), heart motif (Finland) '585' (14k gold) town motif (Turku/Abo) & 'Q7' (year).
It is in excellent vintage condition (outstanding for age). The stone sits firmly in the setting and the band retains its original shape well. The diamond has been tested.
This ring is medium sized. It is an AU size N 1/2 (EU 55 & US 7) with a 17.32mm inner diameter. If you're unsure about sizing, it is recommended that you measure a ring you currently wear to see if you're a similar size. The band can be resized.
