14k Gold & Pearls Ring by Olli Auvinen for N. Westerback, Finland

This elegant and exceptional handcrafted ring in solid 14k gold features a cluster of individually mounted gold balls and white pearls. It was designed by Olli Auvinen and made by N. Westerback in 1969. This rare example of his work is possibly a custom design. 

Olli Auvinen (1933-2007), a distinguished Master Goldsmith—a title reserved only for expert jewellers in Finland—initiated his career at G. Buchert in 1949 before advancing to design for Alppikultaan. In the 1960s, he crafted jewelry for N. Westerback and began teaching at the Finnish Goldsmith School, eventually becoming its director.

This ring is fully stamped with the Finnish hallmarks 'NW' (maker), '585' (14k gold),  crown motif (Finland), Helsinki motif, 'Q7' (year) & Olli Auvinen's motif. It is in excellent vintage condition (outstanding for age) with perfect pearls. The band retains its original shape. There is an internal engraving. 

This ring is a small size. It is an AU size K 1/2 (EU 50 & US 5.5) with a 16.1mm internal diameter. If you're unsure about sizing, it is recommended that you measure a ring you currently wear to see if you're a similar size. The band can be resized.
