14k Gold & Amethyst Ring by Olavi Nupponen, Helsinki

This beautiful ring features 14k gold that frames an exquisite large facetted amethyst. The elegant piece was designed and handcrafted by Helsinki based jeweller Olavi Nupponen (1948-1972) in 1958.

The ring is fully stamped with the Finnish hallmarks 'ONU' (designer), the crown (Finland), '585' (14k gold), city motif (Helsinki) & 'E7' (year). 

It is in excellent vintage condition (outstanding for age). The stone has a 15mm diameter and sits firmly in its setting. The band retains its original shape well.  

The ring is medium sized. It is an AU O 1/2 (EU 56 & US 7.5) with a 17.73mm inner diameter. If you're unsure about sizing, it is recommended that you measure a ring you currently wear to see if you're a similar size. 

The band can be resized.
