14k Gold & Smoky Quartz Ring by Olavi Nupponen for Kaunis Koru

This special show-stopping original Modernist ring features 14k gold that frames an exquisite large rectangular faceted smoky quartz. The design is both elegant and bold, making this a beautiful statement piece of outstanding craftsmanship. 

It was designed by Olavi Nupponen (1948-1972) for Kaunis Koru in 1960. Kanis Koru, founded in 1956 and acquired in 1989, always acknowledged artist's designs with their initials. 

The ring is fully stamped with the Finnish hallmarks 'ONU' (designer), the crown (Finland), '585' (14k gold), city motif (Helsinki), G7 (year) and 'KK' (maker). It is in excellent vintage condition (outstanding for age) with a perfect smoky quartz. 

The flawless stone measures 22mm X 15mm. This ring is a small size, an AU I (EU 48 & US 4 1/2) with a 15.3mm internal diameter. If you're unsure about sizing, it is recommended that you measure a ring you currently wear to see if you're a similar size.
