14k Gold & Amethyst Ring by N. Westerback, Finland

This lovely mid-century ring features solid 14k gold that beautifully frames a faceted amethyst. It was handcrafted by the atelier N. Westerback in Helsinki, which was registered under the maker's mark 'NW' between 1897 and 1969. (Originally to Nestor Westerback and later to Eino Westerback in 1919). 

The inner band is stamped with the Finnish hallmarks: 'NW' (maker),'585' (14k gold) & crown motif (Finland) as well as the boat motif (Helsinki). 

The ring is in excellent vintage condition (outstanding for age). The beautiful stone (15mm X 11mm) is whole with only some very faintly visible surface wear. It sits firmly in the setting and the band retains its original shape. There is an internal engraving with the date 6.5.55. 

The band is a large size. It is an AU size T (EU 61 & US 9.75) with a 19.75mm internal diameter. If you're unsure about sizing, it is recommended that you measure a ring you currently wear to see if you're a similar size. 

The band can be resized.
