14k Gold & Rose Quartz Pendant by N. Westerback, Finland

This distinctive Modernist pendant features a sculptural design in solid 14K gold, set with two softly translucent rose quartz cabochons at either end. Its elegant form was handcrafted in Helsinki in 1960 by the atelier N. Westerback, established by Nestor Westerback in 1897 and later operated by his son Eino from 1919.

The pendant's bail is fully stamped with the Finnish hallmarks: 'NW' (maker), '585' (14k gold), crown motif (Finland), 'G7' (year) & boat motif. 

It is in excellent vintage condition (outstanding for age). The natural stones remain whole and smooth, and sit firmly in their settings.

The pendant measures 33mm long, including the loop, by 29mm wide. The loop is relatively small and is best suited to a chain with a fine clasp. Alternatively, it can be easily be adjusted by a jeweller to accommodate a larger clasp.
