 Avventurina Glass Candle Holders, Murano

These gorgeous heavy Murano glass candle holders feature transparent gold avventurina glass with controlled bullicante. The avventurina technique was developed on the island of Murano in the 17th century and involves mixing metal oxides with transparent glass. This gives the appearance of suspended sparkles within the glass mass - an incredibly beautiful effect.

Each candle holder has a polished base and carries an original generic Murano label that was used for export during the mid-century period. This means that the maker could be any of the various glass factories from Murano. 

The opening fits a standard taper candle with a 2/2.5cm diameter. Both pieces are in excellent vintage condition (outstanding for age) with no notches, cracks, repairs or discolouration. This listing is for both candle holders.
