Hand-blown Cut Crystal Vase by Moser, Czechoslovakia (formally Bohemia)

This beautiful design features transparent ruby crystal with faceted sides, which creates a unique optical effect. The colour is absolutely stunning and the quality of materials used is very evident.

Produced by the famous Moser glassworks, this piece is acid stamped on the underside (see close up image). The signature was first used in 1925 during Leo Moser's tenure as director. Leo's father, artist Ludwig Moser (1833-1916) had established the company in 1857, which employed many talented artisans and was internationally recognised for its incredible designs. Unfortunately, the glassworks faced financial difficulty during the Depression and later that decade, the family were forced to sell their shares and disperse when parts of Czechoslovakia were annexed.

This vase is in excellent condition (outstanding for its age) with no notches, discolouration, cracks or repairs.
