Hand-blown Glass Vase by Miloslav Klinger for Zelezny Brod Sklo (ZBS), Czechoslovakia
This interesting hand-blown vase features solid transparent crystal in beautiful cognac brown tones. The design is attributed to Miloslav Klinger (1922 - 1999) - one of the incredible Czech glass artists, who were pushing the boundaries of glass design from behind the Iron Curtain!
Czech glass was rarely ever signed during communist rule as the ideology did not believe in highlighting the individual. The Zelezny Brod glassworks was founded in 1948 as a result of nationalisation and was made up of nine glass factories.
This fantastic piece is in good vintage condition with no notches, cracks or repairs. It has some visible wear commensurate with age and use. The inside cavity has some water marking that is more visible when viewed close up in the light. Please view final photo.
