14k Gold & Smoky Quartz Ring by Leevi Nygren for Kaunis Koru

This chunky Modernist ring features 14k solid gold that frames a large faceted square smoky quartz. The elegant piece was designed by Leevi Nygren (registered in Helsinki from 1951 until 1986) for Kaunis Koru in 1960. 

Kanis Koru, founded in 1956 and acquired in 1989, always acknowledged artist's designs with their initials. 

The ring is fully stamped with the Finnish hallmarks 'LN' (designer), the crown (Finland), '585' (14k gold), city motif (Helsinki), 'G7' (year) and 'KK' (maker). 

It is in excellent vintage condition (outstanding for age). The beautiful natural stone remains whole and measures 16mm X 16mm. It sits firmly in the setting. The band retains its original shape. The inner band has a personal engraving. 

This ring is a small/medium size. It is an AU size L 1/2 (EU 51 & US 6) with an internal diameter of 16.41 mm. If you're unsure about sizing, it is recommended that you measure a ring you currently wear to see if you're a similar size.
