This truly stunning vase features super solid mould-blown citrine crystal in a Brutalist style. It is a very substantial piece with a sculptural-like quality that weighs an impressive 5kg!

Henrik Koivula (born Aimo Koivula) designed for Humppila glassworks from 1967 until 1987.  Born in 1918, Koivula had studied at a drawing school in Helsinki before embarking on a career as a tax official! Thankfully, Koivula turned his attention back to artistic pursuits, with the colourful Fantasia series being his first for Humppila. 

Overall very good condition with some light signs of wear commensurate with age & use. There is some visible wear at rim with a few very shallow flakes that are not obvious unless closely inspecting - please see image of the rim. There are no repairs, cracks or discolouration. Imperfections do come with age, which is part of the beauty this piece.
