Handmade 18k gold ring by Karl-Ingemar Johansson, Gothenburg
This beautiful ring was designed and crafted by the renowned Swedish jeweller Karl-Ingemar Johansson (1927 - 1999) in 1974. It features a substantial heavy and thick 1cm wide band in solid 18k gold with a stunning twisted rope and circular pattern that runs along the centre. Johansson usually worked in silver, making this gold piece a rare example of his work.
It is in excellent vintage condition and retains its original shape.
The ring is fully stamped with the Swedish hallmarks 'KIJ' (maker), Gothenburg motif, three crowns motif (Sweden), '18k' (material) and 'Z9' (year). These appear a little dark in the photos but clearly visible when magnified in brighter light.
The band is a size O (EU 55 & US 7) with a 17.5mm diameter. If you're unsure about sizing, it is recommended that you measure a ring you currently wear to see if you're a similar size. As this is an open band, the size can be minimally adjusted to fit the wearer.
