18k Gold Ring by Karl-Ingemar Johansson for Guld & Silversmederna Cecilia-KI, Gothenburg

This beautiful ring was designed by the renowned Swedish jeweller Karl-Ingemar Johansson (1927 - 1997). Dated 1974, it was handcrafted in the Gothenburg atelier that he shared with his wife Cecilia.  

It features a thick 1cm wide band in solid 18k gold with a stunning twisted rope and circular pattern that runs along the centre. Johansson usually worked in silver, making this gold piece a rare example of his work.

It is in excellent vintage condition and retains its original shape. 

The ring is fully stamped with the Swedish hallmarks 'KIJ' (maker), Gothenburg motif, three crowns motif (Sweden), '18k' (material) and 'Z9' (year). These appear a little dark in the photos but clearly visible when magnified in brighter light.   

The band is a size O (EU 55 & US 7) with a 17.5mm diameter. If you're unsure about sizing, it is recommended that you measure a ring you currently wear to see if you're a similar size. As this is an open band, the size can be minimally adjusted to fit the wearer.
