18k Gold & Amethyst ring by Karl-Ingemar Johansson for Guld & Silversmederna Cecilia-Ki, Gothenburg

This stunning ring features solid 18k gold that beautifully highlights a faceted amethyst in a raised setting. It was designed by the renowned Swedish jeweller Karl-Ingemar Johansson (1927 - 1997).

Dated 1970, it was handcrafted in the Gothenburg atelier that he shared with his wife Cecilia. Johansson usually worked in silver, making this gold piece a very rare example of his work.

The ring is fully stamped with the Swedish hallmarks 'KIJ' (maker), Gothenburg motif, three crowns motif (Sweden), '18k' (material), 'U9' (year) and the iconic 'K I Johansson' signature.

This ring is in excellent condition (outstanding for age) with a perfect amethyst that sits firmly in the setting. It retains its original shape.
