Hand blown Glass Vase by Jaroslav Taraba for Lednické Rovné, Czechoslovakia
This fun vase features solid hand-blown translucent flamingo pink glass with lobed amber handles. This rare find was designed by the famous award-winging glass artist Jaroslav Taraba (1932 - 2020) for the Slovakian glassworks of Lednické Rovné (now known as Rona Glassworks, Slovakia). Taraba joined the glassworks in 1957 and became head designer in 1972.
The beautiful colour and lobed handles are typical of Taraba's art glass design. This piece would have originally been labelled by Lednické Rovné. Glass during this period was rarely ever signed during communist rule as the ideology did not believe in highlighting the individual.
This vase is in good vintage condition with no notches, cracks, repairs or discolouration. It has some visible surface wear commensurate with age and use. Please see final photo for a close up.
