Mould-blown Glass Vase by Humppila, Finland

This beautiful Brutalist vase features honey amber tones with a weighted clear base. The wave-like form has a fluted surface that reflects the light beautifully! The famous Humppila glass-works produced this model in the second half of the 20th century. 

It was possibly designed by Tauno Wirkkala (1932 - 2005), who worked for various famous Finnish glassworks - including Humppila. He is best known for his nature inspired designs of vibrant green or amber tones. Talent must have run in the family as his brother was the celebrated designer Tapio Wirkkala.

This piece is in excellent vintage condition with no notches, cracks, repairs or discolouration. It still has its original label.
