18k Gold & Lapis Lazuli Ring by Henkel & Grosse, Germany
This stunning hand-crafted chunky ring from 1972 features solid 18k gold that supports a large carved and polished natural lapis lazuli at the centre. The gold contrasts beautifully with the deep blue stone.
This special ring was designed and made by Henkel & Grosse, which was founded by Heinrich Henkel and Florentin Grosse in 1907 Pforzheim, Germany. The company is famous for collaborating with many famous fashion houses over the years, including Christian Dior, Givenchy, and Yves Saint Laurent. As most of their production was costume jewellery, this is a rare example of their fine jewellery.
The ring is fully stamped with hallmarks, including the 'Grosse' motif, '1972' (year), 'Germany' (country) as well as '750' (18k gold).
It is in excellent vintage condition (outstanding for age). The band retains its original size and the stone sits firmly in its setting.
This heavy ring weighs 7.7g and is approx. a size M (EU 52 & US 6.25) with a 16.7mm internal diameter. The lapis measures 15mm X 8mm X 6mm. If you're unsure about sizing, it is recommended that you measure a ring you currently wear to see if you're a similar size.
