Blown Glass Vase by Helena Tynell for Riihimäen Lasi Oy
This beautiful example of Tynell's work belongs to her Dayflower series, which she designed for Riihimäen Lasi Oy in the 1970s. The playful design features a flower form of solid clear blown glass.
Helena Tynell (1918 – 2016) was an internationally recognised Finnish glass designer and is considered a pioneer of Finnish glass art. She is known for her experimentation with abstract forms as well as for her glass blowing and casting techniques.
This fantastic piece still carries its original label. It is in excellent vintage condition (outstanding for age) with no notches, cracks or repairs.
