Porcelain Vase by Hanns Hoffmann-Lederer for Rosenthal, Selb

This Modernist vase was designed by German sculptor Hanns Hoffmann-Lederer (1899–1970), who studied at the famous Bauhaus school and designed for Rosenthal in the 1950s. It has a beautiful elegant glossy form with hand-painted black sides. 

Hoffmann-Lederer's design, which is minimalist, geometric and functional, really reflects the core characteristics of the Bauhaus school. 

This piece is stamped on the underside with the Rosenthal Kunstabteilung (art department) maker's mark. It is in excellent vintage condition (outstanding for age) with no notches, cracks or repairs.
