Model B925, Attributed to Asta Strömberg/Gunnar Nylund - see note below
1950s/60s, Mid-Century Modern, Sweden (country of origin)
Excellent Vintage Condition
H 28cm
A sommerso vase featuring solid clear handblown crystal that encases a multicoloured underlay of violet and grey tones. This beautiful elongated form has an ovoid-shaped cavity with a narrow opening ideal for long stems.
This model can be found in Strömbergshyttan's catalogues from the early 60's (see photo). It may have been designed by Gunnar Nylund or his earlier designs may have inspired Asta Strömberg to create this piece, as she also designed for Strömbergshyttan during the mid-century period. Although stylistically this design is in tune with Nylund's work, many collectors believe Strömberg seems more likely to be the author given the date of release.
