Gunnel Nyman (1909 - 1948) was a true innovator of Finnish glass design and a forerunner of the Modern glass movement. Her legacy is a fantastic celebration of the emergence of female designers during the mid-century period. Although her life was sadly too short, her small collection of designs have become some of Finland's most iconic.

Nyman was a master of beautifully capturing light and colour. Her design is particularly recognised for its minimal organic forms that echo a feminine quality, incorporating timeless abstract and subtle elements.
