Handblown Glass Vase by Giorgio Ferro for A.Ve.M. Arte Vetraria Muranese
This piece features incredibly solid handblown clear and encased forest green glass with an iridescent surface.
It was during his time as lead designer at A.V.E.M (Arte Vetraria Muranese) that Giorgio Ferro created the iconic Ansa Volante vases. The design was first exhibited in the 1952 Venice Biennale to much critical acclaim and has been sought after by collectors ever since. Made of thick chromatic iridescent glass, and designed with sinuous curves and large handles - the style is intrinsically linked to Giorgio Ferro's name and Italian Modernism.
This vase is in good vintage condition with some signs of visible surface wear commensurate with age and use -please see final images. It has no cracks or repairs.
