Pressed glass vase by František Pečený for Heřmanova Huť 

This heavy vase features clear pressed glass with an interesting relief pattern reminiscent of melting wax. It was designed by František Pečeny (1920 -1977), who was part of the first generation of glassmakers after the second world war to adopt the pressed glass technique. He was fascinated with the optic possibilities glass allowed and chose to explore this in his design by experimenting with different lens effects.

This model '20245/230' was designed for Heřmanova Huť in 1974. Heřmanova Huť glassworks was founded in 1907 and became part of the Sklo Union group in 1965.

It is in excellent vintage condition with no notches, cracks, repairs or discolouration.
