Hand blown Glass Vase by Ernest Gordon Adsetts for Afors

This original mid-century vase features solid clear hand blown crystal with a beautiful smokey blue and purple ombre underlay. 

Sheffield-born Ernest Gordon Adsetts was a leading figure in the internationally renowned Swedish glass industry at a time when ‘Scandinavian Design' was becoming celebrated in the world. Adsetts designed for the famous Swedish Kosta glassworks with Vicke Lindstrand, then subsequently later that year for the Åfors glassworks between 1954 - 1961.

This piece is in good vintage condition with no notches, discolouration, cracks or repairs. Engraved on the underside is ‘Afors (maker),  Ernest Gordon (designer), GH (Gordon + hand-formed) 34 (production number/year)’ It carries its original label.
