Engraved on the underside of this vase is ‘Afors (maker) GH (Gordon + hand-formed) 9 (production number/year) Ernest Gordon (designer)’

This original mid-century vase features solid clear handblown crystal with a beautiful yellow to blue underlay and controlled internal bullicante. The condition of this vase is quite remarkable - near mint with just some minor scratching on underside. This particular design featured on a poster promoting the 2017 exhibition on the designer 'Life in Glass' at Sheffield University and Art Institute, England.

Sheffield-born Ernest Gordon Adsetts was a leading figure in the internationally renowned Swedish glass industry at a time when ‘Scandinavian Design' was becoming celebrated in the world. Adsetts designed for the famous Swedish Kosta glassworks with Vicke Lindstrand, then subsequently later that year for the Åfors glassworks between 1954 - 1961.
