14k Gold & Citrine Ring by Elis Kauppi for Kupittaan Kulta, Finland
This elegant original Modernist ring features high quality solid 14k gold with a beautiful facetted pale citrine. It was designed by the famous Elis Kauppi for his workshop Kupittaan Kulta.
Elis Kauppi (1924-2004) is known for his sophisticated Modernist designs that incorporated stones native to Finland. His innovative approach that centred on simplicity and form, put Finland at the forefront of jewellery design during the mid-century period. Kauppi's work has been exhibited internationally, including Musee des Arts Decoratifs in Paris and the Pforzheim Jewellery Museum in Germany.
This ring is fully stamped with the anvil motif (maker), '585' (14k gold) & 'Finland'. It is in excellent vintage condition (outstanding for age) with perfect citrine. The band has been expertly resized in the past, which is faintly visible.
This ring is a size P (EU 56.3 & US 7.75) with a 17.93mm internal diameter. If you're unsure about sizing, it is recommended that you measure a ring you currently wear to see if you're a similar size. It is possible to have this band adjusted.
Also available is a pendant by Kauppi with the same coloured stone.
