14k Gold & Pearl Pendant by Elis Kauppi for Kupittaan Kulta, Finland
This elegant original Modernist pendant features solid 14k gold that holds a very beautiful white pearl. It was designed by the famous Elis Kauppi and made by his workshop Kupittaan Kulta in 1966.
Elis Kauppi (1924-2004) is known for his sophisticated Modernist designs that incorporated stones native to Finland. His innovative approach that centred on simplicity and form, put Finland at the forefront of jewellery design during the mid-century period. Kauppi's work has been exhibited internationally, including Musee des Arts Decoratifs in Paris and the Pforzheim Jewellery Museum in Germany.
This pendant is fully stamped with the anvil motif (maker), crown motif (Finland), 585 (14k gold), town motif (Turku/Abo) & N7 (year). It is in excellent vintage condition with a perfect pearl.
