14k Gold & Turquoise Pendants by Elis Kauppi for Kupittaan Kulta, Finland
These beautiful original Modernist pendants feature solid 14k gold with a polished turquoise bullet. They were designed by the famous Elis Kauppi and handcrafted by his workshop Kupittaan Kulta in 1962. The minimal design makes this piece very versatile and your favourite chain can easily be threaded through.
Elis Kauppi (1924-2004) is known for his sophisticated Modernist designs that incorporated stones native to Finland. His innovative approach that centred on simplicity and form, put Finland at the forefront of jewellery design during the mid-century period. Kauppi's work has been exhibited internationally, including Musee des Arts Decoratifs in Paris and the Pforzheim Jewellery Museum in Germany.
Each pendant is fully stamped with the anvil motif (maker), crown motif (Finland), 585 (14k gold), town motif (Turku/Abo) & I7 (year).
They are all in excellent vintage condition with a perfect turquoise. The gold has a light patina commensurate with age. The chain is not included.
