14k Gold & Pearl Pendant by Elis Kauppi for Kupittaan Kulta, Finland
This elegant original Modernist pendant, crafted in solid 14K gold, features a beautifully suspended white pearl that moves freely within its sculptural setting. It was designed by renowned Finnish jeweller Elis Kauppi and made by his celebrated workshop, Kupittaan Kulta.
Elis Kauppi (1924-2004) is known for his sophisticated Modernist designs that incorporated stones native to Finland. His innovative approach that centred on simplicity and form, put Finland at the forefront of jewellery design during the mid-century period. Kauppi's work has been exhibited internationally, including Musee des Arts Decoratifs in Paris and the Pforzheim Jewellery Museum in Germany.
The pendant is stamped with the Finnish hallmarks: anvil motif (designer/maker) & '585' (material).
Each pendant is in excellent vintage condition with a perfect pearl. The gold has a light patina commensurate with age. The chain is not included.
The price listed is for one pendant. There are three available.
