14k Gold & Quartz Pendant by Elis Kauppi for Kupittaan Kulta, Finland
This elegant original Modernist pendant features high quality solid 14k gold with a large facetted clear quartz in a beautiful raised setting. It was designed by the famous Elis Kauppi and handcrafted by his workshop Kupittaan Kulta.
Elis Kauppi (1924-2004) is known for his sophisticated Modernist designs that incorporated stones native to Finland. His innovative approach that centred on simplicity and form, put Finland at the forefront of jewellery design during the mid-century period. Kauppi's work has been exhibited internationally, including Musee des Arts Decoratifs in Paris and the Pforzheim Jewellery Museum in Germany.
This pendant is fully stamped with the anvil motif (maker), '585' (14k gold) & 'Finland'. It is in excellent vintage condition (outstanding for age) with a perfect quartz. The chain not included.
