This striking pendant showcases a bold geometric design crafted in solid 14k gold, beautifully highlighting a luminous white pearl. Designed by the renowned Finnish jeweler Elis Kauppi and expertly crafted in his workshop, Kupittaan Kulta, this piece is a fine example of Nordic Modernist design.
Elis Kauppi (1924-2004) is known for his sophisticated Modernist designs that incorporated stones native to Finland. His innovative approach that centred on simplicity and form, put Finland at the forefront of jewellery design during the mid-century period. Kauppi's work has been exhibited internationally, including Musee des Arts Decoratifs in Paris and the Pforzheim Jewellery Museum in Germany.
This pendant is stamped with the Finnish hallmarks: anvil motif (maker), crown motif (Finland) & 585 (material).
It is in excellent vintage condition (outstanding for age) with a perfect pearl.
