14k Gold & Smoky Quartz Pendant by Elis Kauppi for Kupittaan Kulta, Finland

This beautiful original Modernist pendant features solid 14K gold with a polished smoky quartz bullet. Designed by Elis Kauppi and handcrafted by his workshop, Kupittaan Kulta, the minimal sculptural form makes this piece wonderfully versatile, with your favourite chain easily threaded through.

Elis Kauppi (1924-2004) is known for his sophisticated Modernist designs that incorporated stones native to Finland. His innovative approach that centred on simplicity and form, put Finland at the forefront of jewellery design during the mid-century period. Kauppi's work has been exhibited internationally, including Musee des Arts Decoratifs in Paris and the Pforzheim Jewellery Museum in Germany.

This pendant is fully stamped with the Finnish hallmarks: anvil motif (maker), crown motif (Finland), '585' (14K gold), town motif (Turku/Abo) & 'F7' (year). 

The pendant is in excellent vintage condition. The smoky quartz sits firmly in its setting, while the gold retains a light patina consistent with its age.

The chain is not included.
