14k Gold & Rock Crystal Pendant by Elis Kauppi for Kupittaan Kulta, Finland

This elegant original Modernist pendant features solid 14k gold that frames a beautiful large facetted rock crystal (clear quartz). It was designed by the famous Elis Kauppi and made by his workshop Kupittaan Kulta in 1968.

Elis Kauppi (1924-2004) is known for his sophisticated Modernist designs that incorporated stones native to Finland. His innovative approach that centred on simplicity and form, put Finland at the forefront of jewellery design during the mid-century period. Kauppi's work has been exhibited internationally, including Musee des Arts Decoratifs in Paris and the Pforzheim Jewellery Museum in Germany.

This pendant is fully stamped with the anvil motif (maker), crown motif (Finland), '585' (14k gold), town motif (Turku/Abo) & 'P7' (year). It is in excellent vintage condition (outstanding for age) with a perfect quartz.

The chain is not included. Please note that in the photos the clear stone appears darker due to the reflection of the gold setting.
