14k Gold & Citrine Pendant by Elis Kauppi for Kupittaan Kulta, Finland
This elegant original Modernist pendant features high quality solid 14k gold with a beautiful large facetted citrine. It was designed by the famous Elis Kauppi for his workshop Kupittaan Kulta in 1961.
Elis Kauppi (1924-2004) is known for his sophisticated Modernist designs that incorporated stones native to Finland. His innovative approach that centred on simplicity and form, put Finland at the forefront of jewellery design during the mid-century period. Kauppi's work has been exhibited internationally, including Musee des Arts Decoratifs in Paris and the Pforzheim Jewellery Museum in Germany.
This pendant is fully stamped with the anvil motif (maker), crown motif (Finland), 585 (14k gold), town motif (Turku/Abo) & H7 (year).
The pendant is in excellent vintage condition (outstanding for age) with perfect citrine. Gold chain not included.
