14k Gold & Smoky Quartz Necklace by Eero Rislakki for N. Westerback, Finland

This beautifully crafted elegant original Modernist necklace features a 14k gold chain and pendant with a large cabochon cut smoky quartz. It was designed by award-winning industrial engineer Eero Rislakki (1924-2017) for N. Westerback Oy in 1959. 

The smokey quartz is absolutely stunning! As it is quite translucent, the flawless stone ranges from different shades of pale brown depending on the light. Notably, the pendant still has its original chain - which makes this piece a very rare and special find!

The pendant is fully stamped with 'NW' (maker), '585' (14k gold), crown motif (Finland), 'F7' (year), boat motif (Helsinki) & 'ER' (designer). The necklace is stamped 'NW' (maker) & '585' (14k gold).

It is in excellent vintage condition (outstanding for age) with perfect smoky quartz. The necklace clasp functions perfectly. 

The pendant measures 2.7cm long X 2.2cm wide. The chain is 45cm (18 inches) in length.
