Hand-blown crystal vase by studio Daum Nancy, France
This incredibly gorgeous large vase features super solid hand blown transparent citrine crystal with internal bullicante. Its chunky organic form has an elegant subtle twist. With walls that are around 2.5cm thick, it is unsurprising that this substantial vase weighs over 5kg! Its size and beauty make this a fantastic statement piece.
The Daum family established Daum studio in Nancy, France during the Art Nouveau period in 1878. Under the Daum brothers, Auguste and Antonin, the glass studio became one of the most prestigious in France and successfully transitioned to the Art Deco period.
Importantly, this piece is signed 'Daum Nancy France' with the iconic Lorraine cross near the base. It is in excellent vintage condition with no notches, cracks, repairs or discolouration.
It was very tricky to do this vase justice in the photos due to how it interacts with the light. Please feel free to reach out if you would like to see a video.
