Silver Bangle by Claës Giertta, Sweden
This beautiful chunky bangle features an abstract form of solid sterling silver. It was designed by notable silversmith and sculptor Claës Giertta (1926-2007) and handcrafted by his Stockholm based atelier in 1976.
Giertta’s design language was bold and expressive, often characterised by striking contrasts between smooth and textured surfaces. His powerful, dramatic style influenced a generation of young artisans who emerged during the 1960s and ’70s.
This bracelet is fully stamped with the Swedish hallmarks: 'CIE' (designer/maker), Stockholm motif, three crowns motif (Sweden), 'S' (material) '925' (silver purity) & 'B10' (year).
It is in excellent vintage condition (outstanding for age). The silver has a light patina, which can be polished.
The heavy bangle is circular and medium sized with an internal diameter of 60mm X 60mm. If you're unsure about sizing, it is recommended that you measure a bracelet you currently wear to see if you're a similar size.
