14k Gold Necklace by Björn Weckström for Lapponia, Helsinki

This beautiful hand-crafted Brutalist necklace features solid 14k gold rectangular textured gold links. The timeless 'Seita' design, which dates back to the 1970s, is by one of Finland's most famous jewellery designers and sculptors Björn Weckström!

Weckström (1935- ) is known for his distinctive, nature inspired designs with Lapponia Jewellery, which gained prominence in the 1960s and 1970s. His creations often feature bold, organic forms and textured surfaces. 

The clasp is stamped with the Finnish hallmarks: crown motif (Finland), Lapponia motif (designer/maker), 585 (14k gold), 'E8' (year) & 'Lapponia'.

It is in excellent vintage condition (outstanding for age) and the links retain their original shape. The very secure clasp functions perfectly. 

The necklace is 45cm (18") long. If you're unsure about sizing, it is recommended that you measure a necklace you currently wear. The links are approx. 19mm long.
