18k Gold & Diamond Ring by Ateljé Stigbert, Stockholm
This striking Modernist ring features a crisp, architectural mid-century design in solid 18k gold, with tapered shoulders rising to a finely textured geometric openwork mount set with a small diamond.
Established in the early 1940s by goldsmith Stig Engelbert, Ateljé Stigbert gained acclaim for its distinctive mid-century and Modernist jewelry pieces. Engelbert, like other prominent Swedish goldsmiths of the era such as Sigurd Persson—who also contributed designs to Ateljé Stigbert—received his education in Germany, primarily at the 'Kunstgewerbeschule' in Pforzheim.
The band is fully stamped with the Swedish hallmarks 'HE' (maker), Stockholm motif, three crowns motif (Sweden), '18k' (material), 'O9' (year) & 'Stigbert'.
This ring is in excellent vintage condition (outstanding for age). The stone sits firmly in its setting and the band retains its original shape well. The diamond has been tested and is .04ct, which is also engraved on the band.
The band is a large size. It is an AU size: T 1/2 (EU 63 & US 10) with a 19.8mm internal diameter. If you're unsure about sizing, it is recommended that you measure a ring you currently wear to see if you're a similar size. The band can be resized.
