Hand-blown Glass Vase by Asta Strömberg for Strömbergshyttan

This lovely sommerso vase features solid clear hand blown crystal that encases a transparent peach underlay. The beautiful elongated form has an ovoid-shaped cavity with a narrow opening, making it ideal for beautifully highlighting a single stem. 

The model B925 can be found in Strömbergshyttan's catalogues from the early 60's (see photo). It may have been designed by Gunnar Nylund or his earlier designs may have inspired Asta Strömberg to create this piece, as she also designed for Strömbergshyttan during the mid-century period. Given the date of release, I have attributed it to Strömberg.  

This fantastic collector's piece is in excellent vintage condition with no notches, cracks, repairs or discolouration. It still carries the original label. It looks wonderful on its own or can be paired with other models from Strömbergshyttan.
