Murano Glass Vase by A.Ve.M. Arte Vetraria Muranese
This precious blue aquamarine vase was created by the renowned Arte Vetraria Muranese on the island of Murano. The sweet design has been beautifully crafted using the pulegoso technique with applied wing handles. This method of glassmaking was developed by Napoleone Martinuzzi in the 1920s and gives the glass a spongy opaque appearance due to the many air bubbles.
On the underside of this fantastic collector's piece is the original label - making this piece a very rare find! I have also included a catalogue image that dates production somewhere between 1934 and 1936.
Literature Reference: Murano '900, Deboni, pg. 23 - illustrates technique.
This piece is in excellent vintage condition (outstanding for age) with no notches, cracks, repairs or discolouration.
